In search of... the new Kid-Friendly Knit

With so many projects "en cours", my best rationalization for buying more yarn and for starting yet another project is that I need a "kid-friendly" knit. My 4 major on-going projects are fair isle socks, an eyelet sweater, BBS and a slip-stitch clutch. Each has its own set of complications requiring time, attention and focus for charts, pattern counts and Size 1 double pointed needles. Seeing that the kidoodles hardly ever nap at the same time, these are what I refer to as the After Nine Knits - when on most evenings I'm too pooped for much progress. And so goes the search for that kid-friendly knit: that great project where you can knit a few stiches in between running after kids or rescueing the kitty who once again is caught on what he believes to be the wrong side of the child safety gate!
So here is my latest acquisition - Artful Yarns' Shakespeare from here. My new KFK project will be the Child's Tunic from Knitting Pure & Simple. I know. I know. More WIP. I like to believe that they are all Works of ART in Progress... for family and friends. That makes it all worthwhile!
