Progress & Reading for Pleasure

The EZ Baby Sweater is humming along as much as any white, 4 line pattern repeat, lacey knit can progress while chasing after the kidoodles. In the meantime, the Kid-Friendly Knit is having it's own challenges. This single-ply yarn, while beautiful, does not support any tension whatsoever! A little research on Ravelry suggested spit-splicing which seems to be working out well so far. So much for a KFK. The pattern is friendly but the yarn requires much attention. Looking ahead, I'm researching an alternative to the kitchener stitch for the hood on this sweater. This yarn will not tolerate that kind of stress.

On a more relaxed note, the Yarn Harlot has done it again with her latest Free-Range Knitter. I especially appreciate her defense of so many projects cast on; that as knitters "we are so effective, practical and dedicated that we enjoy having something to knit at all times - no matter the circumstances". Of course, that still can't explain those projects that haven't seen the light of day in months, but it can help me rationalize that Malabrigo that was so wrong as a hat but would make a great lacey neckwrap - and a KFK besides!
